Welcome to La Bergère - Independent boutique hotel
Our traditional Valaisanne chalet "La Bergère" has been lovingly renovated and offers the perfect base to relax and put your feet up after a day exploring the trails or pistes in the Val d'Anniviers.
The 12-bed chalet has 4 bedrooms (3 en-suite and 1 with private bathroom) and a cosy 4 bedded dormitory. We are completely flexible to your needs and can offer full chalet board, bed & breakfast and short stays.
The chalet features a sociable open-plan living and dining area with a inviting fireplace and a small terrace from where you can catch the last of the sun's rays with an apéro in hand.
We are taking bookings for summer and winter and we can't wait to welcome you!
FACILITIES
The chalet has a secure ski room with heated boot racks to safely store your equipment and enjoy toasty feet each morning.
Summer shredders will be able to store their trusty two-wheeled steeds in our bike shed and there is also a bike wash area and full array of tools to indulge in any pre- or post-ride tinkering.
We have also factored in plenty of space for airing your shoes and gear after a day on the mountain.
LOCATION
La Bergère's central location in the picturesque village of Ayer is an ideal base to access the main resorts of Grimentz, Zinal and St Luc, all of which are less than 15 minutes' drive away. The free bus also conveniently stops just opposite the chalet.
In the summer months, there are plenty of running, riding and hiking trails starting straight from the front door!
FOOD & DRINK
The menu at La Bergère is all about tasty home-cooked food to ensure that you get the most out of your day on the trail. We are super passionate cooks and our food is a mix of traditional favourites alongside more contemporary and worldly flavours. Locally sourced produce is used wherever possible and we try to avoid any excess packaging in order to minimise our environmental impact.
Fuel up for the day with our hearty continental breakfast, including freshly baked bread and a cooked hot option of your choice. On your return you can look forward to a delicious sweet treat from John's extensive baking repertoire alongside freshly brewed coffee and tea. A three-course meal is also available six evenings a week and accompanied by free-flowing wine and beer for our full chalet board guests.
MEET YOUR HOSTS
John and Emily have been passionate about the mountains for as long as they have known each other. Having met in Switzerland as chalet hosts, they started visiting the Val d'Anniviers in 2014 and fell in love with the valley instantly.
They established Anniviers Ski & Trail in 2020 and haven't looked back since. Together, they have an extensive knowledge of the area so whether you require advice on the ski area, running or riding trails, they will help you get the most out of your stay.
And, of course, provide you with top notch hospitality and delicious food!
